Portsmouth comic con part 2

Today was an early start again, as we got ready for the first day of the comic con. We headed to the Guildhall just after 9 to be ready to open by 10am, the crowds were already forming at the entrance, people dressed in cosplay, nerdy/ geeky clothing, from old to young they were here ready to enjoy the comic con in the sunshine.

We got into the comic village and uncovered our stall, Rachel got the card reader and tablet ready and I tried to calm my nerves, no matter how many times I do this I still get nervous at the start. 10 o'clock rolled around and the gates were open, it started off slow with lots of people just browsing and getting a lay of the land but by 10.30 it was picking up and comic village was getting packed. 

As we sold throughout the day we noticed things that worked well, what our best sellers were and where we needed to make adjustments. For example the badges, bookmarks and stickers proved to not be popular, Whereas our mystery book bags, books and our prints did well. It's given us lots to think about for our next con but that part of the fun trying new things and adapting. 

Rachel went off to have a look round the con and when she came back she had two mystery bags and other goodies plus an ice cream. That girl loves mystery bags. 

Towards the end of the con people started to fizzle out and it allowed me to go off and have a look round the con, I only came back with some comics to add to my personal collection. By 6pm it was the end of day one and we did really well, even better than last year. Rachel redid our table for tomorrow and covered it up. We then headed out to find somewhere for dinner. We decided to try the burger place just down the road from the Guildhall 7bone burger. It had lovely nice burgers and a good portion size of chips too definitely a place we will be visiting again. After dinner we just headed back to the hotel to unwind and rest before we do it all again tomorrow.
