London Film and comic Con
London Film and comic con
London Olympia 8th -9th July
We began by traveling up to London on the 7th July we set out early afternoon so that we would be at our hotel by 4pm, it was hot, I don’t like the heat much so I may have complained about it a bit, also London was packed especially the underground we had to catch the tube that heads towards Wimbledon, while the Wimbledon tennis is on so yeah it was busy, but we got to our hotel with no problem it was located just down the road behind the Olympia, Rachel had choses it so that there wouldn’t be too much stress the next morning when we try to get there. We had a very relaxed evening, well as relaxed as can be when you’re melting from the heat.
Morning came and we check out of the hotel and headed over to the Olympia, again we were there to do signing with Markosia but rather than us having the whole day with them we only had an two hour time slot because they had quite a few writers coming in one was even traveling in from Germany.
Trying to get in was fun, the marshal team didn’t believe us when we said we were here with Markosia, so Rachel was contacting Jordon so he could come down with our passes so that they would let us in, once we got our passes and got inside, Jordon lead the way up to the Markosia table we were on the top floor near artist alley, we put our suitcase of stock behind the table and left to enjoy the con, our time slot wasn’t till 2pm so we had lots of time to go round, we even had access to the green room which was cool, never been in a green room before.
Whiles there a writer called Matt Hardy who has a 3 part series out called Thunder child based on the boat Thunder child from War of the worlds and he wanted to team up for the next release of the comic so that my version of War of the worlds could be an add on for those who pre order his comic that would be released around Christmas time, I was more than happy to do that so gave him a business card and we will be in touch again.
We didn’t do as well at London compared to the last to Comic con but considering we were only there selling for an few hours we did well, and a few books surprised me such as Whispers a book about mental heath and Flash blind did well but of course War of the worlds was almost a sell out again. We packed up our suitcase and said our goodbyes to the Markosia team before heading back round the conventions one last time before leaving to get the train home. Hope to be back again soon London see you next time.
